Nuffield Health Wessex Hospital is proud to offer the only local hydrotherapy pool as part of a private hospital. Hydrotherapy is a form of physiotherapy that is administered in a special heated pool. The benefits of hydrotherapy as part of a rehabilitation plan can be significant. There are also chronic conditions which benefit from hydrotherapy including polymyalgia, RA flare ups, chronic back pain, OA, MS and Muscular dystrophy. We offer regular back, hip, knee and shoulder classes which are suitable for advanced post-surgery and non-acute patients aiming to regain mobility, strength and core stability. The hydrotherapy pool is maintained at 34°C with showers in the changing rooms and poolside. We also have a hoist and a staircase with rails to aid mobility in and out of the pool and a large range of floats and equipment for use in the pool. The warm water helps relieve pain and relax the body, so increasing ease of movement.
